Colorado’s Montanya rum distillery up in the Rocky Mountains is committed to making the rum the right way. For Montanya, that doesn’t just mean pot-distilling their rum and eschewing the use of artificial additives – they are also a B Corp business, striving to run their distillery ethically and in a social and environmentally sustainable way.

As well as paying a livable wage to their employees, Montanya is committed to social diversity, offering equal opportunities to women and people of colour, and this Montanya Valentia single barrel rum is part of that commitment.

Montanya Valentia has been distilled and bottled by an all-female team at Montanya to celebrate women in distilling. The rum has no artificial colourings or flavourings and spent the last three months of its four year maturation in a cask that formerly contained rye whiskey created by another all-female team at Catoctin Creek.

Best of all, a portion of the proceeds raised from Montanya Valentia will go to the Woman of the Vine and Spirits Foundation, a development support organisation for female workers in the drinks industry.
